‘Diya’ means ‘lamp’, and true to our name, we seek to spread the light of hope and Caring – wherever we find the darkness of anguish and despair.
We endeavour, in our own humble way, to reach underprivileged children and give them an encouraging new lease of life.
Benefits of free education and counseling are offered by us to turn them into understanding and compassionate human beings. We wean them away from the bad habits and menial jobs, leading them to the path of education so as to improve the quality of their lives.
By doing so, we also have a favourable impact on their families as well… who can then look forward to a future of well being, with renewed optimism and confidence.
Today, Diya schools are making a difference to our two hundred and forty underprivileged children. They have access to free books, stationery and uniforms. They benefit from nourishing mid-day meals and get free Medicare whenever they need it. And above all, they grow and learn key human values in a positive, healthy, friendly and loving atmosphere.
Diya Foundation is proud to provide crucial support to needy women as well. We offer them computer training and vocational skills, to enable them to lead lives of financial independence and self-esteem.
Likewise, our spirit of universal caring is reflected also in our initiative to help the elderly and handicapped, assistance to old age homes and blind students is one of the key initiatives of Diya Foundation, where we ensure the welfare of an ever-increasing number of senior citizens who find themselves lonely, challenged and vulnerable.
Every year, Diya conducts numerous health and de-addiction camps. Like everything else that we offer, these are free and open to all.
We are grateful to all the donors who make our sustenance and work possible. We thank our associates who share our passion to serve the less fortunate in society. And we are indebted to all our colleagues within the organization, whose inspiring motivation and tireless efforts keep us going from strength to strength.
Yes, with you by our side, Diya stands tall – and committed to make a difference to this world, for the better.
God bless you all.
