Road Safety Awareness Programme organized by PVR Nest. PVR nest organized a Road Safety Awareness Programme on 20th September 2012 for the school children at PVR Plaza Connaught Place, New Delhi. The Chief Guest of the programme was Ms. Sheela Dixit. The students of CHETAN VIDYA MANDIR (a school run by DIYA FOUNDATION) also took part in the programme.

Diya Foundation in collaboration with AHF (Aids Healthcare Foundation) has done HIV/AIDS testing camps in Nihal Vihar. People were counseled about HIV and rapid tests were also provided to the local people. We continued it for two days and almost 150 people were tested.

Independence Day was celebrated by students of Chetan Vidya Mandir in school premises. Students performed a dance drama on a patriotic song. Later, new uniforms were given to the students along with the refreshments.

Janamashtmi was celebrated by students of Chetan Vidya Mandir. Raaslila was performed by the students. Dance drama was also performed followed by distribution of sweets.

Free Health Check-Up Camp was organized in Man Mohini Kaul Healthcare and Diagnostic Center on 18 September 2011. Facility of General Physician, Eye specialist and Gynecologist was provided to the local residents of Nihal Vihar. Free tests like Lipid Profile, ECG, Blood Sugar etc were also provided free of cost. Almost 250 people were provided with all these services.

In its endeavor to raise funds for Health and Education for underprivileged children, Diya Foundation and Care & Concern Foundation organised a Charity Event on 22nd September at Russian Cultural Centre, New Delhi. The Theme for the event was “Celebrate Life” “Celebrate life” is a Nation Wide Campaign initiated by Care & Concern Foundation and Diya Foundation. In this Campaign the Foundations are supporting Underprivileged Children (age group up to 14yrs) who suffer from Chronic Diseases like Cancer, Heart ailments etc. by providing financial support for the costly surgical procedures they have to undergo and also providing them with post operative medication, costly anti cancer drugs, which they cannot afford. Under this scheme the needy children will also be provided with crutches, wheel chair and other medical equipment etc. They plan to extend this campaign across all major districts of the Country in the coming years. The Chief Guest for the Evening was Renowned Industrialist Shri Sushil Ansal Chairman Ansal API; the Guest of Honor was Mr. P.L Singh (Former Minister for Environment and Population, Nepal), Mr. Mukesh Sharma (Additional Director Delhi Doordarshan) and other eminent Doctors, Professionals, Artistes, and Entrepreneurs.

Sri Krishna Janmashtami celebrations Sri Krishna Janmashtami celebrations on 10th of August 2012 at Diya Chetan Vidhya Mandir school!!! The Exhibition of Craft material made by the Students of Chetan Vidya Mandir was displaced at Dalmia Cement Head office on 18th September 2012. The city was geared up for the festival with most of the schools celebrating it enthusiastically. Celebration bells began ringing at Chetan Vidya Mandir with bhajans and cultural programmes. Students dressed up as Sri Krishna and His consort Radha performing skits and dances depicting Radhe and Krishna and other mythological characters. The birth of Sri Krishna is celebrated in the city with much gaiety and fervour. And Diya Foundation also added chores to this festival.

Dalmia Cements hosted its annual function on 18th September 2012 at their office in Connaught Place, New Delhi. On this auspicious occasion Diya Foundation extended its hearty congratulations to Dalmia Cements. The students of CHETAN VIDYA MANDIR (a school run by DIYA FOUNDATION) carried out a splendid and soulful dance performance reflecting the true form of worship by performing GaneshVandana as well as a pinch of patriotism through the song Vande Mataram.
