- GENERAL HEALTH CHECK UP CAMP
A free Eye & General Health Check-up Camp was held at Nihal Vihar, New Delhi. Free medicines were
distributed.
Lohri was celebrated at Diya Vidya Mandir, Nihal Vihar, New Delhi on 12th January, 2009. Children sang
songs and danced around the traditional bonfire. Local residents of Nihal Vihar also joined the fun
An AIDS Awareness Camp was held in Nihal Vihar, New Delhi
Republic Day was celebrated by the students of Diya Vidya Mandir, Nihal Vihar, New Delhi on 25th January,
2009. A patriotic dance drama was presented by the students.
FEBRUARY 2009
Holi was celebrated at Diya Vidya Mandir. Colors and gulal were showered and the whole community
seemed to have merged into one big fraternity under the guise of colors. Children played with pichkaris and
their faces smeared with color look adorable.
MARCH 2009
An AIDS awareness camp was held in Nihal Vihar, New Delhi on 28th March, 2009. Besides lectures on how
AIDS is contacted and precautions needed to avoid it, a street play was also organized.
Diya Foundation celebrated its anniversary on completion of 6 successful years of dedicated service and
compassion for the underprivileged at India Habitat Center. The musical evening started with Saraswati
Vandana beautifully performed by students of Diya Vidya Mandir. Mr. Shiv Khera, the famous educator,
author & consultant gave a motivational lecture and along with Dr. S.C. Manchanda released the Souvenir.
MAY 2009
- BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION OF STUDENTS
Mrs. Kusum Gulati spent quality time at Diya Vidya Mandir and joined the cake cutting ceremony to
celebrate birthdays of students born in May.
A free health check-up camp was organised on 3rd May, 2009 in Nihal Vihar, New Delhi.
An AIDS awareness camp and street play was held on 10th May, 2009 in Nihal Vihar, New Delhi.

- INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION
Independence Day was celebrated at Diya Vidya Mandir. A patriotic dance drama was presented by the
students.
Janamashtami celebrations were held at Diya Vidya Mandir, Nihal Vihar. Raaslila of Shri Krishna & Radha
was enacted by the students.
- LUNCH ARRANGED FOR OLD AND DESTITUTE
Lunch was offered to the inmates of Old Age Home at Geeta Mandir, New Rajinder Nagar, New Delhi.
Volunteers of Diya Foundation spent some quality time with them and shared their experiences.
SEPTEMBER 2009
Students of Diya Vidya Mandir celebrated Teacher's Day. The senior students became teachers and taught
their juniors and enjoyed themselves.
A free health check-up camp was organised on 27th September 2009, in Nihal Vihar, New Delhi.
OCTOBER 2009
Diwali was celebrated by Diya Vidya Mandir with lots of enthusiasm. Children decorated the school and
enjoyed the fireworks display

NOVEMBER 2009
A drawing competition was organised at Diya Vidya Mandir wherein students made beautiful paintings on
social themes like 'Save the Trees' and 'Reduce Pollution'.
Children's Day was celebrated at Diya Vidya Mandir in association with State Bank of India, Vikaspuri, New
Delhi. Students presented a cultural programe of dance, music and poetry recitation. Prizes were
distributed by the Branch Manager of StateBank of India, Vikaspuri, New Delhi.
Winter school uniforms and shoes were distributed to the students of Diya Vidya Mandir.
An AIDS awareness camp was held in Nihal Vihar on 8th November, 2009.
DECEMBER 2009
- VISIT TO MILLENNIUM SCHOOL, NOIDA
Diya Vidya Mandir students visited Millennium School, Noida on 25th December, 2009 to celebrate
Christmas with them. Students sang carols and enjoyed the cultural programme followed by delicious
lunch and gifts offered by Millennium School.
