- CHRISTMAS CELEBRATION
Members of Gathering Force Christian Society visited Chetan Vidya Mandir. Students celebrated Christmas
with great joyand enthusiasm with them. They sang Christmas carols and decorated the Christmas tree.
Sweets were also distributed to the kids.
Free health check-up camp was organized on 5th Dec,2011 in Paschim Vihar in association with Care and
Concern Foundation. People were provided with free blood tests and check-ups along with counseling on

OCTOBER 2010
On the auspicious occasion of Diwali, students of Kothari International School visited Chetan Vidya Mandir.
A cultural programme was presented by students of our school. Students of KIS played games with our
students and distributed gifts to them. It was a day full of joy and fun.
- UK PARLIAMENTARIAN VISITED DIYA FOUNDATION
A delegation of UK Parliamentarians visited Chetan Vidya Mandir on 6th October 2010, and interacted with
students and teachers of the school. They appreciated the functioning of the school and pledged their
support to Diya Foundation.

Janmashtami was celebrated by students of Chetan Vidya Mandir. Raslila was performed by the students
during the Cultural Programme.
- BALKALAKAAR – DRAWING COMPETITION
Students of Chetan Vidya Mandir participated in annual event organized by AIESEC Delhi IIT.
This event is aligned to the cause of building an environment that helps improve the quality of life that is
faced by the underprivileged children in our city. Diya Foundation has entered into a partnership with
AIESEC, so that our children can get an opportunity to help them discover and develop their potential in
arts of various types.
Students of Chetan Vidya Mandir participated in innovative multimedia awareness campaign to create
films, advertisements, radio jingle by utilizing all modern means of communication to express ideas of
Peace by Mahatma Gandhi and how they relate their ideas to "Sports" for the world to see and imbibe. This
initiative is been taken by Youth 4 Gandhi Foundation.
AUGUST 2010
It is a platform for young adolescents to explore their creativity. Cine Art 2010 has already reached out to
20,000 school kids this year. 500 children are from special schools and NGOS. Our chosen theme for
CINEART 2010 is – ‘Nature’. Nature Performance, Nature Trail & Walk, Recycle Workshops, Nature
illustrations, Conceptualization and submission of Original Green Idea & Green painting were the
introductory activities with all the children. Diya foundation children were chosen as three Green Little
Ambassadors for Cine Art 2010 and their performance on Nature were among best two. The three little
Ambassadors then put their special messages as how to preserve nature into a Green box. This Green Box
traveled to about twenty schools and various corporate houses for contribution of their ideas. A compilation
of these ideas will be printed in the Green Book. Film making workshop is the most important
element of Cine Art Nature 2010. 10 children from Diya Foundation were invited to make film with PVR and
St. Marks Public School. The film made by children will be shown in PVR at Grand Finale. Two most
popular films will be telecasted on NDTV (24X7) during NDTV Greenathon initiative during February 2011.
Students of Chetan Vidya Mandir celebrated Rakshabandhan with great joy.
- INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION
Independence Day was celebrated by students of Chetan Vidya Mandir in the school premises. A cultural
programme on patriotic theme was presented by the students.

- INAUGURATION OF CHETAN VIDYA MANDIR
Our new school Chetan Vidya Mandir was inaugurated on 20th July, 2010 by Mrs. Krishna Tirath, Hon’ble
Minister of State for Women and Child Development.
MAY 2010
Diya Foundation joint hands with Care and Concern Foundation and Sir Ganga Ram Hospital to organized a
free health check-up camp for residents of Nihal Vihar on 22nd May 2010 at Chetan Vidya Mandir. A
mobile Van from SGRH came with a team of doctors and facilities like ECG, blood pressure, blood
sugar check-up. Medical counseling was provided to the patients.
MARCH 2010
Lunch was organized by Diya Foundation for the inmates of Old age Home at Geeta Mandir, New Rajinder
Nagar, New Delhi. The staff of Diya Foundation spend full day with them. Bed sheets and daily need
items were also distributed.
Holi was celebrated at Diya Vidya Mandir, Nihal Vihar. A team from Tata Teleservices Ltd. UP-West joined
the students and had fun with them. They presented gifts to the students and played holi with them.
A cultural programme was also presented by our students.

- GCF VISITED CHETAN VIDYA MANDIR
Dr. Reeta K Thukral, a leading Nephrologists’ and Chairperson Global Charity Foundation, USA visited Diya
Vidya Mandir. A programme was organized by students.

- LOHRI CELEBRATION
Lohri was celebrated at Diya Vidya Mandir on 12th January 2010. Students had real fun along with local
residents singing and dancing around the bonfire.
