JULY 2011

-    VISIT TO ALSTOM KI PATHSHAALA

Alstom invited students of Chetan Vidya Mandir for the T Shirt Painting workshop along with the Young Engineering Graduates of Alstom. The competition was organized o 9th and 10th July 2011. Students painted the T-shirts along with the young engineers, topics related to CSR activities were chosen like, Education, Girl Child, Healthcare, Corruption, and Environment etc. Students were also provided with lunches and refreshments. Gifts were also distributed to them.

MAY 2011

-    VISIT TO OLD AGE HOME

Diya Foundation is taking care of the needs of old and aged. Staff of Diya Foundation visited old age home on 25th May 2011, in Rajender Nagar.


Diya Foundation supported them by:

1.    Distributing clothes
2.    Giving Meals
3.    Arranging free medical check-ups and providing medical support.
4.    Sharing time with the aged.

-    LAUNCH OF PVR CHILDSCAPES PROJECT

Diya Foundation in association with PVR Nest launched PVR Childscapes Project on 17th May 2011.
A special function was held in the school premises in Nihal Vihar. The function started with lighting of Lamp by His Excellency, Mr. Pierre Vaesan (Ambassador of Belgium), Mrs. Vaesan, Ms. Christal, and Mr. Pramod Arora (Group President & CEO – PVR Ltd.) and Padmashree, Dr. S.C.Manchanda (Chairman, Diya Foundation). The highlights of the day were the speech by His Excellency, Mr. Pierre Vaesan, performances by students of Chetan Vidya Mandir and PVR Childscapes Project. Unveiling of the paintings was done by His Excellency, Mr. Vaesan and Mr. Pramod Arora.

From '' Illiteracy to Literacy''


An activity to ‘make something new from used plastic glasses’ was organised in class for students of PVR Chilscapes Project. Sunflowers were made by students using used plastic glasses, and glace papers.


-    VISIT TO HINDUSTAN UNI LEVER

Students of Chetan Vidya Mandir were invited by Hindustan Uni Lever, Gurgaon on 12.05.2011 to perform in their award function.  A warm welcome was given to our students and staff followed by refreshment for the kids. A drawing competition was organized for the students and the best paintings were displayed in their office. After the award ceremony, students of Diya Foundation gave the performances. Later on, GM of HUL distributed gifts to the students followed by a lunch.

APRIL 2011

-    ANNUAL CHARITY EVENT – COMPASSION

Diya Foundation organized a charity event “Compassion” on, 9th April 2011 at Sirifort Auditorium, New Delhi. The program started with lighting of lamp by Guest of Honor His Excellency, Mr. Pierre Vaesen, Belgium Ambassador and Minister of Industries, Shri. Ramakant Goswami. A speech was given by His Excellency, Mr. Pierre Vaesan followed by release of our Annual Souvenir. Performances were given by students of Chetan Vidya Mandir. Fashion Show based on the theme of 5 elements of Nature was done by Amanpreet Wahi and other top models, along with the live music by Shibani Kashyap. Students of Chetan Vidya Mandir also walked the ramp with the models. 3 performances were given by Enox Group – Performing Krishna Ke Dus Avtaar, Narsimha, and Vande Mataram.

MARCH 2011

-    HEALTH CHECK-UP CAMP

In association with Care and Concern Foundation, Diya organized a free health check up camp at Manmohini Kaul Healthcare and Diagnostic Center, Nihal Vihar on 6th May 2011.

FEBRUARY 2011

-    INAUGURATION OF DIAGNOSTIC CENTER

On Feb 2011, Man Mohini Kaul Healthcare & Diagnostic Center was inaugurated at Nihal Vihar by Mrs. Reeta K. Thukral (President Global Charity Foundation, U.S.A). Mrs. Rita Kaul (Director of Millennium School) attended the inauguration and appreciated the work of Diya Foundation.

A cultural programme by students of Chetan Vidya Mandir followed the ceremony.

JANUARY 2011

-    REPUBLIC DAY CELEBRATION

Republic Day was celebrated by students of Chetan Vidya Mandir in the school premises. A cultural programme on patriotic theme was presented by the students.
